4×4 Dominican Adventure with Chocolate and Coffee Tasting

1.4×4 Dominican Adventure with Chocolate and Coffee Tasting

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 2,920 reviews · from $59Our pick

This half-day Punta Cana outing combines an ATV ride through jungle roads and plantations with Dominican coffee, chocolate, tea, rum, and Mamajuana tastings. Guides such as Kitson, Felix, Francisco, and Luis Miguel are praised for keeping groups safe and upbeat. You’ll also stop at a freshwater cenote and Macao Beach. Expect mud, bumpy roads, vendors, and possible extra fees.

“First and foremost our booking was change from 9am to 12pm. And that was not cool, because we had this book and confirmed since we left the states/home to be exact. But overall excursion itself was fun for me and my wife we wanted to ride ATV individually to get that experience. I will recommend , make sure to bring some googles which you can buy from Amazon , and if your riding ATVs buy some motorcycle gloves only because your hands will get sore from holding onto the handle bars. My hands were bruised because I bruised easily. And make sure to buy a mask I will suggest an…”

4×4 ATV Experience, Water Cave, Chocolate and Coffee Tasting

2.4×4 ATV Experience, Water Cave, Chocolate and Coffee Tasting

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 1,430 reviews · from $56

Ride a 4x4 ATV from a Punta Cana ranch through rural roads and tropical gardens, stopping for Dominican coffee, chocolate, rum, tobacco, and Mamajuana. You will visit a freshwater cave and Macao Beach before returning to the ranch. Guides such as Felix and Luis Miguel are often praised, but ATV time is limited and sales stops can feel pushy.

“Overall, well worth the experience for the price. As others have commented would take the ATV over the buggy, you will still get muddy but significantly less. The views of the cave and beach were well worth it. Just to nitpick, they will really try to push the photos at the end of the tour to the tune of $80 (which is high by US standards). If you really want them, they are willing to negotiate significantly. The equipment is also a bit beat and has seen better days, only one set of handbrakes worked on our ATV.”

Bring a waterproof pouch for phone and cash - there is a place to buy "Traditional DR Products" - its a bit of a pushy sales pitch - but -everyone's trying to make a buck. The buggy ride itself was super fun - the cave is a 'at your own risk' - we were there during a very crowded time - the visit to Macao beach was lovley - you are in good hands with "Mr. Panda"!”

He collected us from the airport as we flew in from Carriacou that morning and dropped us to our hotel at the end of the day. We feel we saw lots of the island in a short amount of time so this was a great way to get a feel for the island with limited time. Ronnie was super flexible which meant we could adapt the day as we went. And his personal service was fabulous.”

“The personal tour was nice because we didn't have to travel with "60" of our closest friends. That being said, we met our tour guide outside the gates of the Puerto Plata/Amber Cove cruise terminal. It was about a 15-minute walk, so be prepared. Our tour guide was nice and informative. He seemed to know everyone in Puerto Plata! The cable car to the top of Mount Isabel was the highlight of the day. I thought we were going there first, but our tour guide said there was a long wait (they only have two cable cars!), so we went to the rum tasting first, at 9 am, a bit…”
